“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5) This verse captures the theme of our 2018 Pastors Conference “Servants for Jesus’ Sake.” The identity of a pastor and his self-understanding of pastoral ministry is captured in this selfless expression, “with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” Pastoral ministry is not about us, but about serving Jesus Christ as Lord, and that is expressed in the way a pastor serves the members of his church, those for whom Christ shed His precious blood. Join us in Orlando, FL, October 2-4 as we explore this ministry-shaping, Christ-exalting theme, “Servants for Jesus Sake.”

Seriously, I’m Not That Good at This: Equipping Pastors’ Wives for Planned and Unplanned Counseling Opportunities

Andy Farmer

One challenge every pastor’s wife faces is how to live fruitfully and faithfully in personal ministry to others. The pastor’s wife often lives in the uncomfortable space between the desire to counsel and care for people in the church, the distinctive demands of serving a husband who is leading in the church and all manner of assumptions people make on her role and gifting and availability to the church. This session is designed to speak into the experience of the pastor’s wife in to provide vision, focus and practical wisdom for counseling and personal ministry.
